Veterinary Cardiology

Dr. Lori Drourr graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She spent 9 years working in general practice prior to returning to academia to pursue her passion for cardiology. Following her residency at Texas A&M University, she achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and became a Diplomate of the ACVIM in the College of Cardiology. As a specialist she has worked in private specialty practice and as an associate professor at the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Drourr has lectured at local and national meetings including the ACVIM, AVMA, AHAA, and the SFVMA. She has facilitated veterinary staff trainings, and participated in building a cardiology webinar that has reached more than 2000 veterinarians worldwide. She also collaborated with the veterinarians at the San Francisco and Oakland Zoos studying dilated cardiomyopathy in meerkats. She continues to volunteer her time at the San Francisco Zoo as needed.
