Our next meeting is a lunch meeting at 12:15pm at Poplar Creek on August 1.  We will receive an update from two of our Burlingame High School scholarship recipients and we will be joined by their families.  Our program will consist of Fritz Brauner and Bob Doerr making a video presentation.  Additionally, I will not be at the meeting (many of you might consider this a good reason to attend) and Cheri Delacy Carr, our President-Elect, will have her first opportunity to run a Burlingame Rotary meeting.  Come out and support her.

Let’s Review What Happened Last Week:

At our July 25th social event we were joined by 11 guests from Edogawa, Japan including 4 exchange students, their English teacher and 4 members of Edogawa club including two past presidents.  One of the Edogawan Rotarians read a proclamation from Edogawa Rotary President Akio Nishikawa thanking us for hosting the four exchange students.  Additionally we received an invitation to attend their 55th anniversary celebration on September 9th in Tokyo.  Finally, they made a very generous contribution to our Service Fund.

A fun and interesting time was had by all.
